Sharon Spotswood, Quality Improvement Specialist, has a 13 year history with Primaris and diverse career in healthcare quality. She has advocated for Medicare beneficiaries by assisting healthcare management to improve care delivery based on evidence based practice standards. She has recruited and trained mediators regarding healthcare mediation, and was responsible for development and implementation of this state-wide program. She currently supports Primaris cross task teams and Missouri hospitals for targeted Medicare goals. She has recently joined an elite group of 10 in the US as an Advanced Dementia Mapper to provide a unique person-centered approach to care.
Sharon obtained her BS in Nursing in 1982 and Civil Mediation certificate in 2013, both from the University of Missouri. She is also a certified educator for the Diabetic Empowerment Education Program where she recruited and led rural classes for diabetic self-management. Her previous experience includes patient care in home health, long term care and hospitals; Utilization Review; Case Management; and Memory Care management.
She has been a nurse educator, recruiter and community marketer, led support groups, nursing teams, and committees; and precepted nursing staff, physicians, and lawyers.
