Value-based care aims to achieve better quality care at lower cost. This will require a collaboration between physician and patient/consumer.

Based on the headlines and changes in the healthcare industry, we could call 2017 “The Year of MACRA and MIPS.” And there would be little debate that the label could stay for 2018, 2019, and beyond. But while the seismic shift from fee-for-service to pay-for-performance will continue, the headlines for the next chapter of the value-based care saga also are becoming more patient-centric.

Healthcare Uncertainty Abounds, But Deadlines Are Clear

Although there's a lot of uncertainty about healthcare payment changes, the clock is rapidly ticking toward MIPS reporting deadlines.

The end of the year hasn’t exactly snuck up on us, but the calendar does seem to move more quickly this time of year. And the end of the year always brings out the Top Ten lists for accomplishments or events in 2017, as well as the lists of things we’re watching for in 2018.
